***WARNING*** This article contains spoilers from Spider-Man: No Way Home
Is there really “No Way Home” or are they just exaggerating? This Spider-Man movie, released on the 16 December 2021, is likely to be the last Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In only this movie, it features the other villains from other Spider-Man movies (Spider-Man [1, 2, 3] & The Amazing Spider-Man [1, 2]) and the other Spider-Man’s themselves (Toby Maguire & Andrew Garfield).
Now, where were we again?:
This movie follows up from where the previous one, Spider-Man: Far From Home, ended, after what happened when the world finally knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. Peter than escapes the police AND a crowd of arguing civilians with MJ back to his house, where he finds out that his aunt and Happy broke-up (from their slightly close relationship). But during this short time, word of this rumour get’s to everyone as an organisation (of what seemed like the police or the FBI, genuinely I don’t even know myself) come into Peter’s flat to investigate the (fake) murder of Mysterio.
Magic + Spider = Magic Spider???
Ever since Spider-Man: Homecoming, all the Spider-Man movies have featured one superhero who is more like the ‘sidekick’ of Peter, who helps him fend off the villains that await. For this movie, Doctor Strange is specifically the ‘sidekick’ as he helps Peter try to give him and his friends a second chance to get into college, after the disastrous consequence of being the most famous person in the world. But Peter changes the spell too many times and Strange condenses it into a crystal that if released would summon goodness-knows-what from nearly everywhere in the multiverse. Yet some people managed to squeeze through the gap and get into the new universe. Yet despite all their efforts, Strange gets frustrated at Peter for not even talking to the principals of the colleges to even try to get in.
During the traffic jam scene, when Peter asks the principal to try and get his friends into college, the battle against goodies and baddies begins, with the arrival of Doctor Octopus (Doctor Otto Octagius).
Overall, the movie was intense, with several ‘cringy’ moments, but was one of the best Spider-Man movies ever created. And (again) quite possibly the last…
Peace! ✌️
